Connecting Hearts-Animal Adoption and rescue

Christmas Valley Dog Case: The animals have been released to HSR under a pre-sentencing forfeiture and staff are in process of spaying, neutering and then screening applicants. The first group to be adopted out are the boston terriers, min-pins and the west highland terriers. The devoted volunteers that have worked so hard the past two months will have the first opportunity to adopt the dogs, then persons who are on the want list at the shelter are being called to allow them to apply. Adoptions are subject to favorable veterinarian and personal references, site check, altering of the animal to provide placement in the best homes. Other conditions include allowed site checks within the first year and retained ownership of the animal. We will be working on adopting out the other breeds within this group as the first group has been adopted.

Deschutes County Case: all of the large animals have been signed over to HSR. The peacocks have been adopted. We need adoptive homes for the goats, horses and chickens. Please call 923-0882 ext.104 for information.
