US BANK IS A NEW HOME FOR CAT ADOPTION PROGRAM

US Bank, Redmond Branch Office at 314 SW 6th Street, is the newest satellite cat adoption location for our Shelter.

Kelly Ledbetter, Teller Coordinator, contacted our Humane Society recently and asked how she could list pet adpotions on the banks' Community Bulletin Board. So Chris Bauersfeld, Shelter Manager, suggested the bank go one better and allow her to place an adoption Cat Condo inside the Redmond Branch.

The Roomy and attractive unit was donated by Sharon Parr, a member and volunteer with The Humane Society of Redmond.

Three cats have been adopted by bank customers during the first three weeks of this program.

Kelly Ledbetter, Teller Coordinator, enjoys the Adoption Cat Condo, as does Volunteer Rachel Collins.

"Our Tellers enjoy talking with the customers about this cat adoption program," says Terri Collins, Branch Manager. "It's more fun than just asking then if they are having a good day."

"US Bank is proud to be a part of this necessary and worthwhile community adoption project and it's gratifying to know these cats are finding quality forever homes," added Collins.

Rachel Collins, below, who attends Evergreen School, volunteers each weekday morning to provide full service "In-Home Pet Care."

OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS ARE NEWEST FEATURE AT REDMOND HUMANE SOCIETY

HIGHLAND BAPTIST CHURCH LENDS A HAND TO OUR SHELTER

The Humane Society of Redmond has two new outdoor play areas for cats and dogs. These attractive gazebo style units are a community service project by the Men's Ministry at Highland Baptist Church of Redmond.

Scot Lair was looking for a volunteer project that his church could provide to the community. So he called Chris Bauersfeld, Shelter Manager, and asked if there was something she would like repaired or built. He stated that the group has construction people available and looking for volunteer work.

"I was impressed and excited," stated Bauersfeld. "This is the kind of help we need, now our adoptable cats will have the opportunity to be showcased outside."

Bird feeders and a bird bath will be added to the area, providing some cat entertainment.

This building project was headed by Bob Wiley, Men's Ministry volunteer. "Highland Baptist Church is very pleased to assist Redmond Humane Society," added Wiley. "We are committed to providing church volunteers for on-going shelter projects."

Volunteers, left to right, Bob Wiley, Steven Ruder, Doug Taylor, Scot Lair.
