James - The Heeler Mix

UPDATE!!  July 27

James is Adopted!!  Now meet..... Rocky!!  (named for his fighting spirit)

We're so happy to report that earlier this week James (Rocky) was adopted by a friend of the HSR shelter.  He'll be living now with kitty friends, and receiving a lot of hugs and love.  We heard from his new 'mom' yesterday, and it sounds like he's settling in very well.

We're so happy for this sweet boy!

Here's some pictures of him chilling in his new home.  Doesn't he look perfectly content?

Once again... a big THANKS from the heart to Dr. Robert Fuller for his outstanding surgical work, and giving this boy a chance to live a more normal, pain-free life.  You done good Doc!

Handsome James is recoverying well after his surgery last month, generously donated by Dr. Robert Fuller of Bend.  Come by and meet this sweet guy at the shelter, where you can usually find him chilling out at the front desk with other shelter buddies.

James is available for adoption - he would love to go into a home of his own. Hopefully a quiet home with patient, kind people with some dog experience, and maybe a dog friend who he could buddy up with.  James may take some time to trust and learn to be a dog in a real home, but the rewards of helping James begin to thrive in good care will surely be worthwhile.
