The Shelter Management and Board of Directors sincerely want all members, staff and volunteers to be kept up to date on Shelter news, activities, fund raisers and events.
Please check this website often, and click the page buttons that interest you. This electronic communication is our most efficient way to inform everyone involved with the Shelter.
In this effort, please remember all members, staff and volunteers are welcome to attend every board meeting. The first part of each board meeting is reserved for a question and answer period.
The board meets in the Shelter conference room the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m.
Humane Society of Redmond Selects New Donation Boxes
The Board of Directors has authorized the purchase of 20 new donation boxes for placement in our local businesses. The clear plastic "doghouses" style boxes will replace some of the wooden boxes currently is use at our 22 locations in Redmond and Sisters. These new plastic boxes will also be featured at special events and other fund raising and information functions.
Membership Committee Member Roberta Shirley reports that the new boxes will feature our logo as well as pictures of animals up for adoption.
Members, friends and volunteers of the Redmond Humane Society interested in sponsoring a new collection box should contact the Shelter at 541-923-0882 and speak with a volunteer.
Membership Committee Members Margo Alexander and Steve Thorp report that donations are steadily increasing with the addition of 8 new boxes in Sisters, complementing our 14 locations in Redmond. With a bi-weekly total average of $100 in collections.

Suggestions on new locations in Redmond and Sisters are always welcome, as we strive both to increase awareness of the Humane Society of Redmond and "pass the hat."
Membership Challenge
At the annual meeting of the Humane Society of Redmond on July 14, 2009, our President, Rachel Poet, D.V.M. challenged us to double our membership. We are taking her request seriously and have started a Membership Challenge.
First, the Board of Directors decided to offer a Business Membership Special: one year for $99. This price expires December 31st.
In addition, we added a line to the membership application envelope to include the name of the person who referred the new member or encourage a renewal. Each time a name is listed on that line, their name will be entered in a drawing for a $100 cash prize. All members are eligible for the drawing, each referral will result in an entry. The more members you can bring in, the more chances you have to win! At year end, we will draw a winner from all the entries.
Membership envelopes are available at the Front Desk of the shelter. Membership dues support shelter operation; we rely on your generosity. New members and renewal memberships receive a membership card with a guide to document valuable information about your pet and a great looking sticker for your car or business with our new logo to show your support.
Encourage your friends and neighbors to become members. Ask the people with whom you do business to support the shelter that we care so much about. Do it now and gain a chance at a cash prize.
