The Humane Society of Redmond is dedicated to enriching the lives of displaced animals through quality care and adoption to a responsible, loving home. With community education and support, and the efforts of our staff and volunteers we will realize this goal for every animal in our care.
Our Values
We believe that every animal in our care deserves:
Our respect,
The best medical care, and
The opportunity to Thrive
"Animals First" Philosophy
Through a high-save, animals-first focused philosophy, and dedicated volunteer
and community support, 98% of the dogs and 96% of the cats who entered
our shelter doors in 2011, returned home or were adopted into new homes.
Thank you to Janet Stevens, of The Bend Bulletin, for her recent article (Jan 13, 2012):
Redmond shelter sets a high standard for pet success.
Who Are We?
The Humane Society of Redmond is dedicated to sheltering and healing the neediest animals in our community. We serve Deschutes County and participate in remote rescues when called. Our organization includes an active, hands-on Board of Directors, a committed and talented Shelter Manager, a small staff of dedicated employees and enthusiastic volunteers who give of their personal time. Our shelter helps over 1000 dogs and 1000 cats annually.
What do we do?
We take in strays and owner surrendered animals, mainly dogs and cats. We provide medical care for these animals and strive to find them loving forever homes. A dog or cat entering our shelter has better than a 95% chance of leading a happy, healthy life with our efforts.
We believe that every animal who enters our shelter back doors (usually through no fault of their own), deserves the chance to leave through our front doors with their future secure.
